A Basildon-based courier company has delivered some very special parcels today – to the children’s ward at Basildon Hospital.
Managing Director at Abby Couriers, Mr Mark Giles, said: “Spending time in hospital is never a nice experience and that is particularly true at Christmas time when you’re a child which is why Abby Couriers decided to take part in a national initiative to deliver some parcels of Christmas cheer to Basildon Hospital’s children’s ward
“The idea came from the National Courier Association and is one we are pleased to support by working in partnership with our local hospital.
“We were pleased to deliver more than 30 parcels containing Christmas goodies to the hospital on Christmas Eve and hope that it helps brighten Christmas for some of the children who have to stay in hospital this year.”
Founded in 1994 Abby Couriers is a family run firm with a Head Office in Luckyn Lane, Basildon and offices at Welwyn Garden City.
With almost 200 staff the firm has more than 175 drivers on the road providing Same Day Delivery Services across the United Kingdom and Europe for key clients who include DHL, FEDEX and TNT.
